The preschool program at The Early Learning Institute enables children ages three to five to play and learn together through a curriculum designed for children of all abilities. Morning and afternoon preschool sessions are held at the agency program sites throughout Allegheny County in Castle Shannon (South Hills), Kennedy Township (Ohio Valley), and Wilkins Township (Penn Center East).

Our professional staff of preschool teachers and educational professionals partners with parents to design an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) defining goals to be achieved. These preschool programs make it possible for children of all abilities to play and learn with peers from their own communities. We have a low student to teacher ratio. We have experienced teachers who are Pennsylvania certified in areas such as elementary, early childhood, and special education.

Our highly academic preschool curriculum, aligned with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards, combines small group activities with each child’s educational goals to prepare our students for kindergarten and beyond. We enrich our preschool curriculum with special music programs, visits from cultural organizations, and the most up-to-date technology. We provide creative learning opportunities and ask that parents also be involved in the classroom.

TELI offers year-round rolling admission and invite children to join in one of our preschool classes on or after their third birthday. We also have scholarships or financial assistance for those who qualify. Learn more about our Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC).
